Title: Trying to decide between these 2
Post by: hrd2fnd on August 12, 2014, 10:42:38 PM
I've been wanting a convertible land yacht for sometime now, and have been saving my spare change to purchase a car. I figure within the next year or two I will have a budget of 25k to purchase. I've narrowed my search to either a 1968 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible or a 1972 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible.

For those who have experience working on or may have or now own, what has been some of the pros and cons on owning one of these classics that I may need to consider?

You might also consider a early 60's Continental with the suicide doors.

The '72 Eldorado is the last biggest convertible ever made that still had a huge V8 unhampered by emissions controls. You sit in that and the hood is the horizon, a true touring cruiser that stock could glide along at 125 mph scary smooth. I had a '72 sedan deville with the 472 in it, powerful and fast. The '70 is my fave Eldo.
