Looking for opinions on this map system for Garmin GPS. Is it worth the $99? Does it show private property names, Easy to use, and etc..
-
Yes, very easy to use and shows who lives next door. Worth the money.
-
Yes to all of the above. You can probably get a free trial period on your smart phone if you want to see what it's like. The gps card works a lot nicer than the phone too. It's slick.

Well worth the money!!!! Got one for fathersday to use in my 60csx . Best gift ever

This is one of those must have on every trip tools! I never leave home without it. If for no other reason, the state wide topo map is worth every penny.
-
Thanks guys! Sounds like a winner

I would test the smart phone version before buying. I haven't used the card version but the Android version is buggy and support is lacking. Has some good detail just not as smooth as you might expect.

I have the garmin 650. Does the chip show GMU's and trails?
-
Chip shows GMU boundaries, most trails and land ownership. Will work with the 650!

Buy it.

The suggestion I made regarding the smartphone app was just so he could see what it was like. I have an iphone and it works pretty well. Can't speak for the android platform. There's no question in my mind that the GPS sd card version works 10x better than the smartphone version. I am a big fan of the app on the iphone though, with all that said.

I would like to have a gander at the chip version. IMO the Android version is very buggy, which is what prompted me to come back to this thread. I was reviewing a EW GMU and had no ownership info and the layer was checked. Hit my location, it zoomed over to where I was and everything displayed. Slid back to 139 doesn't show, move to 145 check land where I have access, owners data is listed. BTW, it did show additional land this owner held where he said we could hunt we just couldn't find path through other private land. The app provides that info.
For some real feedback go to their website and read the forum and see responses. If my tone sounds negative it's because this is close but hasn't met expectations. To be fair the expectation was set high and I suspect based on people who use the chip, due to their level of satisfaction.
When used on Android there is no tracking feature so, you must use 2 apps, I use Navionics with cached maps and it works like a charm. I just don't have the public/private/GMU detail, if it had that data I would use one app.
For the lovers of the app do you use Iphone, Android, or chip? Id if you are prostaff etc.
