Sunday, brother in law and I got out to scout some area's we wanted to check out. No bear so far, but plenty of deer, horned toads and elk up the rear end. We found some bear scat but will have to start searching up higher or later in the evening as a rain storm moved in around 4pm.
hunting area, both sides of the road, all the way back to the pointy mountain areas.

Beautiful buck! Bucks were out in numbers today! This was one of the best though, along with 100+ head of elk grazing in a field where my brother in law shot his deer last year. How I wish I had a deer tag!

The hunt starts this saturday and hopefully I'll get a bear to come within range on my .58cal CVA Hawken. I feel solid out to 150 but I really would like him to be within 100 yards or less.
