Not true about every day.
The answer is it depends.
Restraint type cage traps that hold an animal alive the law says any animal caught must be removed within 24 hours of capture. In effect it is a 24 hour check with a little leeway for the trapper.
On cage traps that kill the animal it is a 72 hour check.
Traps that require a special permit such as conibears and foot traps it is a 24 hour check.
