Title: Is this a good bighorn sheep?
Post by: idahohuntr on August 18, 2014, 09:30:39 PM: I know nothing about bighorn sheep...is this an average one? big one??? Got them on a trail camera and thought it was pretty cool.

I'm no expert but I'd say upper 180's. He looks solid throughout and has good length.

You going to tell us what state he's in and if you have a tag? :)

Post by: DOUBLELUNG on August 20, 2014, 04:58:12 PM: I SWAG scored him at 171, and that's probably low. VERY nice ram, bet he's what anyone would hope for from that herd. Looks to be at least 9-10 years old.

Take it from a person that as a kid himself growing up with a grandfather that raised sheep if that middle one hit you in the head yo9u'd know it. As a kid I thought it would be fun to get down on hands and knees and head but with the sheep. After 2 hours of being unconscious realized I didn't have what it takes to do that again. bad part was parents and grandparents laughed about it til the day my grandparents both passed and would never let me forget it
