I am so glad that I caught this guy on camera two days after an encounter with him. I think he is a decent size bear and looks kind of cool like he has a Mohawk.
I saw this guy for the first time a few nights ago. He is new to me in my area. I heard him before I ever saw him and he was thrashing around making a lot of noise. He was huffing and busting brush along with stomping and in general claiming the area for himself. I never could get a clear shot at it because of the vegetation that was there. I wanted to make sure that there were no cubs at the time plus I wanted a clean shot
I have seen lots of bears in the wild, but this guy brought a whole new respect for them to me. I was so glad that I had a weapon with me or I would have been pretty nervous because of how close he was while he was acting like he was. Something clearly had him worked up pretty good.
I hope to run into him again soon.

That is one big bear. Now go get him.....

....................now, where was that ? I wonder if his Mohawk is from being agitated, or if that's his style.

Nice looking rug he'd make. Go get him!

No, but that went through my mind at the time. I used a 30-06. I usually hunt with a 7mm ultra mag, just didn't today.

I want to see the other bear he was fighting with. Looks like he has bite marks on his legs and head.

Here is one that he could have. It has one ear torn half off and I have other pictures of him from a different angle with quite a scar on the left side of his face. There are some toads here.

WOW that's a TOAD! That white star on his chest is huge  I bet you are right, and those two have been duking it out!!!
-
Wow, well done! Nice bear.

Yeah, I'll bet the one in your trail cam was pleasantly surprised to see his "buddy" gone. Two male bears that size, I'll bet they put some of those battle wounds on each other... :boxin:
