Went to check the 2 cameras my cousin and I have in the backcountry yesterday, yep some maggot a&$ hole stole one of them. This is the second time in that area some jackwagon has messed with my stuff, it has to be a fellow hunter, that's what really sucks. I hope you have fun trying to use a camera that requires a 5 digit code before it turns on! Send me a pm with phone number and I will call you back with the code!! If the honest guys out there see some guy selling a trail camera with the name Brian c wrote inside of it, please buy it and you will get paid back, you just have to let us know who you bought it from. My cousin will have to let you know the brand, I'm not sure. Man I hate stupid people

The camera is a moultrie.
-
Jerry,
Thank you for posting this up. The camera was a new Moultrie D444.
I guess I can only hope someone buys it unknowingly and then maybe posts up a question about how to reset it since they can't get past the security code. ?? :dunno: :dunno: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash:
You know, I HATE ... no, I PASSIONATELY HATE THIEVES!!! I am a believer in Karma and I know they will "get theirs" someday, but knowing how far back that camera was, and how far off of the trail it was - I have to believe it was a fellow "hunter" and that really pisses me off. Shameful :mor:  :violent1:
Thanks again Jerry. We will still be hunting that area and we will get a big one!!

Sucks man, I'm sorry to hear it.
Don't rule out a bear as the culprit. Seriously, they eat cameras like nobody's business. Either way you don't have it anymore and I am sorry to hear it.

i know it wasn't a bear because we had some bungee cords (along with the cable and lock) wraped around the camera. The bungees were neatly left hanging on a branch on the tree. I'm positive this was done by a dirt bag fellow hunter, sad to say.

If it's the first one you've had stolen, welcome to the club... It sucks... :sry:

Just curious about your security mechanism. I also use a lock on the camera face and a stainless steel cable with another lock on the ends. Did they cut the cable? If they did, they must have known what they were doing and came prepared.
I wouldn't be so quick to blame another hunter. I'd be more inclined to suspect an ANTI-hunter first. Either way, they are still dirtbags.
-
They must have been prepared, the cable and lock were still in tact. They must have cut the heavy plastic part of the camera case where you lock it? I've had my sd card taken from a different camera in the area, both were pretty far from hiking trails. Hopefully carma bites them in the balls.
-
Anything plastic=a lack of security. Sad to say it's only a matter of time till 1 gets stolen, but it seems to be a fact of life. I've lost one, but it was just strapped to a tree. Maybe a bear made off with it, I really don't know. It was also in the middle of nowhere.

We should start a support group.

...or a Hunt-Wa stakeout! :bash: :bash: :bash:

I was wondering why all of your guys' trailers are at camp so early. This explains it :bash:
What on Gods green earth is that supposed to mean?
-
For the hunt-wa stakeout!
-
What in gods green earth is going on here?
-
That sucks. What unit was your camera in? I'd try and put up a camera up to watch the other and maybe you could catch the dush and post his picture up on the hw wall of shame.
-
That really hacks a guy off just reading of the theft of your cam. I would like to think the thief wasn't a hunter, as anyone who would steal someone's property will undoubtedly steal (poach) wildlife too. Good Luck on getting it back. I'd be in favor of putting out a bait cam and get the goods on him.
-
I don't get the trust that I am hearing being given to the fellow hunter. People are people, like thieves are thieves.
You can't believe a fellow hunter would do something like this, Really?
I guess being raised in a law enforcement family, I've learned that there's many folks out there that don't care about anything, but doing someone harm. They do enjoy it.
