Title: Eagle point kings pics
Post by: kingsalmonkllr77 on December 09, 2008, 07:00:39 PM
The picture is from 2006 but thought I would share the story.  We had been fishing every weekend out at the point and doing quite well but this day was different.  Perfect weather, tide, bait, and nothing.  We fished for 6 hours and didn't even have a takedown.  We decided to head to a different spot about 5 miles north and if no luck there we would come back for the tide change to eagle point.  We hooked 1 native silver and watched as the indians set their nets in our trolling path so after a brief screaming match we picked up and returned to eagle point.  We dropped our gear in the water and resumed fishing.  I asked the boat that was oncoming if he had seen any fish caught and he quickly told me to  quit asking stupid questions.  Within seconds of him being a _ick my fishing buddy hooked the 17 pounder which we landed fairly quick.  We made a turn and were getting ready to pass _ickhead again and hooked the 31 pounder I fought it for about 25 minutes after chasing it a while into shallow water and within minutes of landing it the same guy asked me what we were using and how deep I took this as a great opportunity to let him know how I felt.   Anyhow I don't keep secrets, luck is luck.  In 14 trips we boated 19 kings,  2 silvers, 8 sockeye, and 2 dozen pinks.  Not to mention a 50+ that got into someone's downrigger after an hour long battle and another in the mid 40's that broke off and a complete spool out (couldn't get the boat turned around fast enough to chase)
