Title: What age is best for spaying?
Post by: doubletall on September 04, 2014, 09:02:16 AM
Our lab pup is 6 months old which is the age our vet recommended for spaying.  However, I've read opinions that it’s better to wait until they are around a year old and have done most of their growing.  I'd prefer to not deal with a dog in heat but if there are health benefits to waiting that's what we'll do.

Anyone have a strong opinion one way or the other?

Thanks,

Dave

absolutely wait until after their first heat.  Give them a year or so to mature.

Let your dog develop. A vet will always say chop early.
