Not much of a read. Glad the guy is ok. Doesn't happen that often but it's best to carry and be prepared. Seems unusual for a black bear to me. I know it happens from time to time. I would have a few questions for the guy. Something doesn't seem to ad up. He didn't know there was a bear around? Seems strange for a bow hunter. For any hunter for that matter. I would expect a bow hunters senses to be more finely tuned to their surroundings though.

It's very possible the bear had found the deer and claimed it and if the bear had cubs I can easily see even greater potential for this to happen. Glad the guy is OK!

Darn critters are loud most of the time,specially for a bow hunter,glad hes o k !!!,Since it was legal I'm packing the heat !! :yeah: :yeah:Ill be making sure this is not revealed to my significant other or I could be baking cookies and holiday breads next season. :chuckle:
