We got this cat on one of our cameras a few days ago. I missed one two years ago and I really feel like I should be out calling trying to redeem myself. I have a couple questions. How long will one stay in a general area? Would fawn distress and a decoy be the best bet or should I try something different? How long on stand before I move? I have read that you want to call continuously for upwards of an hour. Does that mean that you literally let the call run straight through for that long? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i would contact bearpaw. they are outfitter here on the site... they kill alot of kitties! they could give tips for sure. I know that people use hounds if you don;t have hounds i am not sure what to do but they can probably shed some light

Call prety much continuously but switch sounds every 5 min or so. They come in cautiously and can loose interest if using the same sound non stop. If you have any cougar vocals that's will help. I'd contact rain shadow(member here) and maybe get some of his calls. Also you can read threw his calling storys and pick up some tips. I like fawn, rabbit, elk calf distress mixed in with non treating cougar vocals. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
