Title: What backcountry muzzleloader supplies
Post by: Craig on September 07, 2014, 02:19:40 PM
If you were backpack hunting 4 miles from the truck for 3-4 days at a time( in October ). What supplies would you bring with you for your muzzleloader? Do you clean your gun everyday?

I have hunted with my muzzleloader a couple times but just day hunts.

1 capper with 10-12 caps and 3 reloads. No need for cleaning everyday. Just tape the barrel and seal the cap with some nail enamel.

:yeah: bring a nipple wrench and pick   i always carry my multi tool with a set of pliers to be able to remove anything that might be stuck   comes in pretty handy if you want to remove the cap and pick out the nipple   set of three speed loads is good just depends of if you have another back up weapon with you for small game  but three is plenty.   an extra tin of caps just in case   never hurts  might like to take along a few cleaning patches just in case you might need to wipe your barrel out if you shoot  can also back up a patch if need be
