Title: western blacktail (late to the party)
Post by: bulldogs40 on September 07, 2014, 06:39:45 PM
hello all this is my first post,
I just moved to WA from FL for work (active duty navy). I understand that I am well behind the power curve as far as scouting goes but that being said I am more than excited to switch gears from chasing redfish to getting back in the woods. I have been reading this site pretty religiously since i found out i was getting orders here and trying to learn as much as i can on the fly but it seems that hunting out here is a different animal from what i grew up doing in the south east. I am going to be spending some time in the woods this coming week before i have to report to do some scouting and am looking at hiking into gmu 448 or 437 just to get my feet wet. anybody who has experience with these areas i would love to hear from you. my questions are more logistical than anything... how to get access, where to park... any tips would be greatly appreciated.
PS i am a homebrewer and would more than willing to trade some beer for a little help.

Homebrewing is a great thing here   On Ault Field road there is a homebrew store owned and operated by a chief.  Why hunt 437 and 448 when the deer hunting on GMU 420 is 2nd to none for deer.  The hardest part is getting land access.  Then there is base hunting which is awesome!  Welcome aboard shipmate
