-
Wow wow wow what a stud not a 400 bit I would say close enough. Congrats.
-
Yep, STUD!
-
I will pass on all these words. Thank you all. I can vouch for this hunter and say that he is a straight up savage and worked for every inch of this trophy. My buddy told me "he is a flat out killa of elk" He is a local guy and hunts very hard every year.
Rambo comes to mind.
-
Might be a state record! What an elk!!!
-
Dandy bull, Tell him congratulations on a wonderful bull.
-
Awesome :yike:
-
Looks a lot like a Nooksack bull. Awesome bull and congratulations to the hunter and the people involved in the hunt!
I wish it was a nooksack bull. That means there was a general season in 418 :bash:
I understand that the Nooksack is a permit hunt! With that being said... I was commenting on the fact that the bull has a lot of the same qualities of a bull in that unit and all the more the hunter should be happy to have harvested such a monarch as he did...in a DIY area and not a permit unit. My hat is off to him and congratulations once again.
-
So is that a cascade roosevelt? It beats the state record by12" if that score was the same after drying. Hell of a bull!
-
I'm not impressed and give the hunters no credit. They practically cheated with all of that modern gear - heck they even have modern belts holding up their pants.
Oh, sorry, wrong thread.
That is an AWESOME bull!
 and  to the hunters.
-
Wow! :yike:
-
Very nice. Congrats to the hunter.

That is a heart shot. His leg has two joints. Right above the first joint is his heart. The bone goes forward from just below the wound. Perfect shot.

I dont think so he was still coming out of the woods yesterday.

I can tell you based that he tracked that bull for over five hours it wasn't a heart shot. Not to mention many know this bull he isn't/wasn't a secret. I won't go into any other details as those are the facts I know, I know more as well but none of my business to give a story on the hunt, that's his business to tell.

Interesting.
-
I heard southwest. And only a couple miles in.
-
OH MY!!!! :o
-
Who cares where he shot it. Bull of a lifetime. At least he shared or someone did. Good job. Shot placement was good. He found it and it was dead. Everyone is quick to judge. Until your in that position no judging. Jealousy is a horrible. Go get em boys few days left.

I would love to hear the story. shot placement looks good but you never know with a big old bull like that. tough critters.
-
wasnt saying it was a bad shot i was simply saying i would have been worried. it is simply one of the coolest bulls ive ever seen. hopefully he will be at the sportsmans show that alone is worth the entry fee
-
Yup
-
It was found dead after a second arrow and tracking for five hours. There is no jealously on this end, it's a great animal that was harvested by a hunter. All I was addressing was the question of a bad shot, which, happens with everyone at some point. The initial shot resulted in a five hour track. Is that good? Hell I guess it's all ones opinion.
As far as location, southwest, northwest a few miles in...10 miles in on the road...people I'm sure will figure it out eventually and shouldn't surprise anyone.
-
:chuckle:
-

If it gets entered into any competition, I think they require the county it was shot in.
-
Odds are it won't be entered into any competitions.
-

Agree...or let's hope so anyways.
-
Heck I'm little jealous. Just saying people need to start pointing out the good not picking people apart. Why lots of people don't post pics or anything for that matter.
-
Why is everyone trying to keep it a big secret where it was shot? The bull is dead now and if thousands of road hunters flock to that area, well that's just the way it is. By the way, my friends, sisters boyfriend knows a guy, who knows a guy that said it was killed in the Snoqualmie Tree Farm. ;) Anyone that hasn't figure out where you are going to hunt yet, better hurry up and buy a Hancock permit before everyone else finds out that this bull was killed in the Snoqualmie Tree Farm. :chuckle:
-
Great
-
I passed on that bull last weekend :chuckle:
Congrats to the hunter!

Congrats!

No "big secret" it was killed in King County, near North Bend, no more speculation!
-
Any updates on this?

Would someone please pass the grapes? No those, the sour ones. Thank you!

It's Hunterdan's bull. He's posted it on another thread.

No, this thread is about a west side bull. The link you posted is a bull from the NE.
-
Oh, OK. They're both on the same FB page. But just the same, pass those grapes please!
-
If i shot a bull like that i would be showing that thing off all the time. Walking around the sportsman show like i was a big deal. HUGE
-
Nice bull was it in the back of a white Toyota pickup yesterday? if so i saw ya on the side of the road by a taxidermy shop.
I dont think so he was still coming out of the woods yesterday.
So rumors are stirring that this bull was let go to waste. Can you confirm your buddie didn't waste the meat. Any of you guys who act like you know this guy know if he wasted the meat?
-
I can vouch.
No meat was wasted.
-
It drives me crazy how people act when they supposedly know someone who killed an impressive animal. Am I the only one?
-
Good deal. So you did put hands on this bull?
Yes I agree the aditudes are funny. Like it's some super secret story of the bull getting shot. I understand it's not your story but being so vague just makes them appear as if they think there **** don't stink cause they know the guy who killed a nice bull.
Nice bull none the less. Good to hear the meat will be eaten.
-
That bull is SICK end of story
-
WOW!!
-
Fantastic bull. Congratulations.

exactly

-
Agreed...why all the top secret stuff?
What is the point of somewhat telling the story. Why not post everything you know? I believe that is what this forum is about; sharing stories, pictures, helping others, etc
I don't believe anyone on here is going to jump into their truck and head out to the kill site, once reading this. The bull is dead, so what does it matter. No need to post GPS coordinates, but why not share the GMU and the story behind the kill.
IMO- It comes off cocky posting vague information. Congrat's to the hunter. Great bull...
-
I think its called plausible deniability.
-
I don't really understand why everyone always has to be so... Questiony when someone harvests a quality animal, who cares where it was harvested... Yes that bull probably has some offspring running around. But like any normal hunter no ones going to give there spot up especially when it's a public access area. Not trying to offend anyone but just enjoy that dandy bull... But a story about the hunt would be awesome describing how it went not where it was lol.
-
Beast Mode Bull!!
-
I apologize for the attitude.
I shared a butcher table with the hunter last year and can definitely say he is a savage hunter and a great guy.
I didn't mean anything by my comment. :sry:
Sometimes you can get caught up in the excitement.
All is good and congrats again to the hunter on a great bull.
On another note....The Mariners won last night!
-
It always cracks me up the guys who get butt hurt that people won't share where they killed a bull. This bull is an absolute giant, I don't blame the hunter or friends for not running their mouths about where it was killed. It's a west side bull. Most of us probably know the area it was killed, elk don't grow that big in every part of our state.
It's an amazing bull. A true giant.

It is a great bull. The hunter looks like he's been chasing elk for years and finally stuck a GIANT! Congrats.
-
Congratulation's to the hunting party (and hunter). That's a dandy bull.
I hope that it come's out that this bull was taken from the north side of Bull Mountain, on Bull Ridge, at the head of Bull Canyon, above Bull Creek that flow's into the Bull River.
No, forum's are not about telling everything you know for the whole world to see!!! I hope he come's on here, tell's a great story and leave's some thing's secret for only him and his party to know.
I also hope that he really research's taxidermist's and get's a great one for his bull.
-
She didn't happen to utter the words.....divisoria de las aguas did she? :chuckle:
-
This thread is getting a little crazy??? :dunno:

They did run their mouth about where it was killed though.... I knew where it was killed and had a text of the bull before it even got posted on here. I am not butt hurt that he wont confirm what his buddys wife already has. I never one time asked where it was killed, I already knew. I wont go to hunt the area. I have my area. I doubt another bull like that is in that same area anyways. If you had read my posts youd know I could really care less about location. Im interested in the story of the hunt. Great bull!
I never quoted you so I'm not sure what you're talking about. I'll bet good money that bull was not killed anywhere near washougal like you say it was either.
-
:yeah:
-
I don't go back and look at pics over and over but that's what I've been doing with this one. Might be the coolest bull I've ever seen. I especially love the curl on the brow tines on the side view.
Dang, just looked at it again. Who am I kidding, ALL of the tines are way cool! :chuckle:
-
I think its called plausible deniability.
Are you suggesting that the OP is withholding information because of the rumors about the bull being shot in the watershed? I have heard that WDFW is investigating the location that this bull was harvested, so I hope everything checks out for the hunter. Its a dandy bull and it would be a shame if the rumors came to fruition.
-
I agree. 3rd best bull I have seen this year so far, best from Washington, so I hope its all good. Rumors on this one are like wildfire though from camps I usually don't hear bad stuff from. I hope its all good for their sake and that great bulls sake.
-
I also have heared the same rumors once it came out on the web, BUT if they are wrong the hunter will be able to confirm. So i am just waiting to see.
-
Some stuff has been deleted???????? Whats up with that????
-
:dunno: I am not following it that closely.
-
Ya the part where the wife of the hunter said it was killed around washougal camas area (Cougar)?? :dunno: :dunno: Getting CRAZY
-
turned out I was dead wrong and w the rumors stirring I didn't want to confuse. Sorry J.
-
All we have to do is wait for the big game book to be reissued and it will show county
-
Congrats to the hunter, that's an amazing animal
I could care less where it was shot, as I'd never expect anyone in there right mind to share that info..
Hopefully he can go back next year an chase another masher !
-

Well if it was in the watershed like many are saying it was, he should be able to find all sorts of big ones with little pressure. :chuckle:
-

I heard washougal from a source that is completley unrelated to this website. I can say that my buddy has this same bull on his trail camera from last week in august.
-
Too funny. A family member who is not a site member called and asked if I heard about the 388" bull killed on the coast.
-
Lol. Yep
-
Too funny. A family member who is not a site member called and asked if I heard about the 388" bull killed on the coast.
funny you say that. When I first saw the picture, I said to myself that bull looks very similar to a few that have been killed near the coast.
-
Lol, ok this is killing me. That bull was killed in washougal. I saw the bull with my own eyes in the back of a pickup. Same sleeveless shirt dude. He rode a bike in 2 miles or so and heard something before he even got set up for a calling sequence. The bull stepped out in the road a few seconds later and thwap. Thats why it cracks my up how cocky and arrogant people get when they think they know especially when they obviously dont. Like i said my buddy has the same bull on camera from the week before the opener.
-

I got the picture texted to me by a guy from eastern Washington who's never even opened up this website. Also got it sent to me asking what I know from a guy in Alaska.
:dunno:
-
Okay, I'm new to the whole elk hunting thing and this may be a dumb question, but what is "the watershed"?
-
Okay, I'm new to the whole elk hunting thing and this may be a dumb question, but what is "the watershed"?
Think they're referring to page 10 in the regs.
-
I think the Green River watershed.
-
Ahhh. Thank you. Hate being 'that guy' but it was killing me not knowing.
-
Sure is one well travelled bull, if you believe all the rumers
LOL
-
This is getting better on a daily basis. Coast washougal watershed eastside in various areas. Really. Lol
-
And now you all can see why many of these big critters dont get posted on this site anymore. Its to bad.....
-
Hey now, I heard Willapa today from the boys in Rainier.......... :bash: :bash: :bash:
-
I think I saw that bull run across the road up on Vancouver Island last summer. :dunno: :chuckle:
Congrats to the hunter regardless of where it was taken. Beautiful bull.

Bull was from King County according to the hunters entry at the Sportman's Show. It must of had a twin ......
See pages 1 and 2:

-
The bull and guy I saw also said king county also has his picture in Washington bow hunters mag says king county. So who is lying? Fowl or the hunter?
-
I'm curious as well. Let's see the trailcam pic.
-
We r all ears fowl
-
Would love to see the trailcam pic of this bull. I am thinking it is a different bull on the trail cam. The field photo really made the whale tales on this bull seem larger than they were in person at the show.
-
If he said king county then that's on him. I will see if i can get the pic on here. I have no reason to lie about something i didnt kill. That's ridiculous.
-
I believe you 100%. You might have seen a differnt bull :dunno:. Post the pic and let us Internet Cowboys be the judge.
-
People lie on there score sheets about locations all the time. They think listing a different location will keep people from going to there area for a chance at a big animal. Same as some lie and say they didn't harvest a animal on there hunter report. It's not a un common thing.
Fowl has no reason to lie and he obviously thinks its the same guy and same bull.
-
If he said king county then that's on him. I will see if i can get the pic on here. I have no reason to lie about something i didnt kill. That's ridiculous.
I believe ya. Nothing in it for you. Would love to see the pics!
-
Would love to see the trail cam pics. Not pointing fingers but with all the suspicion of this bull the hunter has some big balls to lie about where he shot it. Not Just to a person but on his hunting report ,at the show for the record books and to theWashington Bow hunting association .
-
Im trying guys. Not up to me though. Ross, as a guide ive literally caught my hunters lying both on hunting reports and locations. Its not even close to unheard of.
-
Well they are stupid
-
Exactley. And that was my first impression of the dude that killed that bull. A lucky, narcissistic punk who cared about the popularity more than anything. Lol

More digging - A video from 2010, check the bull out at the 1:33 mark. Horn config looks the same to me, just not as much mass and tine length. Look at the distance between #2 and #3 on the right antler and the relative closeness of 3 and 4 on the right again. Also how #3 on the left kicks out. Is this the same bull 4 years younger?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hp6n6tNnpE0 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hp6n6tNnpE0)
There is another vid of breeding elk from the same time frame and same area that has this bull in it as well.
-
The title to the video is October 2014
-
Well that was a big fat flub. :sry: :sry: :sry: I swore it was 2010 when I found it last night. My bad. :sry: :sry: :sry:

Man this thread is hilarious . I've got a 382 west side bull out of pierce county that will never see the internet or the record books because of reactions like this. To bad, I'm sure I'm not the only one who has some great stuff that will never be shared or recorded. Good job internet
-
:yeah:
-
NOt sure of the story, but all i can say is congrats to the hunter on a fine trophy!!

Boy that's a fact!! I haven't hung pics in a long time, next step is I'll quit texting em, then only buddy's will see bone when they come over for a brewski...
-
This post has gotten intense!
-
I met that guy last year during archery season. He got a good buck above my place last year and them buggered up his ankle on his pack out.
