The Army Corps is working on the Toutle River sediment issue again. They are asking for comments, and their current proposal has no plan to add fish passage past the current dam or through any new spillway raises. The wildlife area remains landlocked with no public access. If you ever hope to see fish get through the dam, comment now, and insist on more mitigation and fish passage.

I would hope that dam would go the way of the Elwha and Wht Salmon dams.

:yeah: i've heard that the north fork would have looked like the south fork by now if they hadn't built that stupid thing.

The Corps put a similar dam on the S. Toutle right after the eruption. Salmon came back and were beating themselves at the bottom of it so the locals dug it out. Problem solved.

Tear it down! River looks great up stream.
