I was out scouting last weekend in the area where I hunt in western Washington and I ran across this scene. To my uneducated eye, it appears as though a bear discovered a ground wasp nest below this tree and turned it into a meal. I've found a decent amount of bear sign in the general area. What do you guys think? Is this something that a bear would do? Or is this possibly the work of another critter?

Looks like a bear to me. Coyotes will also dig them up, but the hole will be more v shaped.
