Phesant- As best I can tell the St. John area is the only real pheasant hunting within a reasonable driving distance. If one is willing to keep driving Moses Lake and Pullman area's are all options.
Grouse- Does anyone mess with the inland empire paper company land? There are many 1000's of acres available, and it's nearby, but i've never bit for a permit to hunt.
Quail- I know nothing.
Alternatively I have lots of family in the tri-cities and we make it down several times in the fall, and there are several release sites and public land near the rivers which ought to contain birds, but again I haven't done anything down there in particular.
I'm not asking for anyone's sweet spots, just curious where people have had some luck, I notice most folks are on the west side on the forum.

A trip to the Region One Office of WDFW in Spokane Valley is worth a trip as is a stop at the BLM Office off Fancher in Spokane.

I was just down at the BLM office on Monday and bought the map for Rosalia, there is lots of public land available, just have to burn the gas and check out what is available in person. My co-workers husband just retired from WDFW and has given me some pointers, but he spent most of his time chasing the endangered grouse (spruce?) and moose, but had helped in the Revere Project back in the 90's and early 2000's, which is a great piece of property.

He flushed up 3 birds all at once yesterday, he nailed one, watched it bounce get up and sprint off, while my dog was staring at the other birds flying off...he wasn't quite mad, just annoyed.
