Hey I'm new to the sport of bear hunting and wondering if anyone could give me any pointers on what gmu or anything that may help point me to an area I might find some bears. Also any tips on which method of hunting works best for bears? Calling, spot and stalk, or just sitting and waiting? I am shooting a 30-378 and I can take a 800 yd shot so I would like to be in an area where I could do some long range glassing and blasting. :mgun:

My recommendation would be to find bear sign, preferrably in the form of scat so you can tell how long ago they have been there. Also this area should include food and water. Then sit on the water whole. Spot and stalk can be hit or miss, on the contrary, if they're in the area you know they'll eventually come to water.

I Have Found Walking Logging Roads Very Slow, And Stop To Listen. I Stop About Every 10 To 15 Yards. You Will Probably Hear Them First.
