Title: Facebook and I-594 - Post Your Opposition to this Referendum, Support of I-591
Post by: pianoman9701 on September 27, 2014, 10:00:57 AM
There's a lot of traffic on HuntWA regarding I-594. How many of you have yet to post something on your Facebook page opposing it? Doing that here is a no-brainer and unlikely to stir debate. But when you put yourself out there to your family and friends with real facts about the dangers of passing I-594, you involve a larger group and one who already listens to what you have to say. I challenge all HuntWA members to engage your family and friends today to post your thoughts on I-594 on your Facebook pages. Don't wait until after the election to voice your opposition of a new law. Prevent it from happening by posting today and keep posting until November.

I have been posting a lot while making sure that those family and friends (younger) are registered and get educated beyond the media blitz and vote to retain our 2A rights.

It's simple to read, being only one page. And if passed, will conflict with further attempts at more stringent background check laws being passed. We need to pass I-591.

When I post my objections to I-594 is usually include a link to the secratury of states web site that has then entire text of I-594 and urge others to read the entire text and not rely on what they are seeing in the televised adds. http://sos.wa.gov/_assets/elections/initiatives/FinalText_483.pdf (http://sos.wa.gov/_assets/elections/initiatives/FinalText_483.pdf)

From the News Tribune:

"Semantics triggers opposition to I-594’s gun-sale checks"
http://www.thenewstribune.com/2014/09/22/3393088_semantics-triggers-opposition.html?rh=1 (http://www.thenewstribune.com/2014/09/22/3393088_semantics-triggers-opposition.html?rh=1)

Semantics are what creates the meaning in a law.  It is sickening that the supporters of I-594 are trying to convince people that I-594 will not do what it clearly says it will do.  Temporary transfers are a major issue.  The bottom line is they are lying and will spin their message any way they have to in order to achieve their anti-gun agenda.

Tacoma council passes resolution supporting universal background checks

If you live in Tacoma, VOTE these anti-gun zealots out of office.  These people actually think criminal will go through a background check to obtain a firearm.  If they are that naive, then they do not deserve a position in a public/elected office.  Our Second Amendment rights will be regulated away unless we VOTE people into office that will uphold their Oath of Office to support and defend the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights.  If you haven't voted in the past, this is a critically important time to start.

VOTE YES on I-591 (Protect our Gun Rights)

VOTE NO on I-594 (The Anti-Gun Initiative)

Watch the video:
Thursday June 26th 2014, 1:00PM
The Seattle Times Editorial Board interviews proponents and opponents of Initiative 594 (concerns background checks for firearm sales and transfers).
http://www.tvw.org/index.php?option=com_tvwplayer&eventID=2014060083

The proponents of I-594 continually ignore the broad issues I-594 creates related to temporary transfers/loans of firearms between friends and family.  They also ignore the fact that I-594 will only affect law-abiding gun-owners and will do nothing to stop criminals from obtaining firearms by their usual illegal methods.  Criminals will NOT willingly go through background checks when they want a firearm; I-594 will apply only to, and burden, only law-abiding citizens.  They also don't want to acknowledge that I-594 creates a Department of Licensing database of law-abiding gun owners.  These databases are historically the precursor to confiscation.  Also, remember the media abuse of licensed gun-owners by the Journal News in New York when they published the names and addresses of law-abiding gun permit holders on the internet in interactive maps (http://archive.lohud.com/interactive/article/20121223/NEWS01/121221011/Map-Where-gun-permits-your-neighborhood-).

There is no "common sense" in I-594; it is an Anti-Gun initiative funded by Anti-Gun billionaires to achieve their Anti-Gun agendas.

VOTE NO on I-594 (The Anti-Gun Initiative) - Don't let our rights and freedoms be chipped away!
