Kinda slow this moring with the cold weather. They sure are holding tight. That is why I brought out my 20" stage coach 12 gauge. Its short but it reaches out far enough. Got this one flushi g out of the timber at 25 yards or so.

Yes, I did.  The lab kicked him out of what’s left of the corn, about a 30 yard shot.  Probably could have picked up another if I had more time.

My pups last rooster of this season.  We ended up with 2 roosters and a duck.  Sorry for the glare on the pic.  The cell phone doesn't take the best pic's.  We'll start focusing on ducks in December.

Went out this morning with my buddy Before work. This was Chief's first trip out in a month. I had heard from my buddy that the birds were still holding pretty tight so i decided to bring out the Stage coach 20" hammered double barrel for the trip. I got my 2 and My buddy got half a limit... We each missed several and if we shot a little straighter we would have had a limit in 30 min!

 :yeah:

I have meet several of the volunteers who take the time to release the birds. Without them this would not be possible.

Y'all missed one,he was in my yard this afternoon, ironic that he was parading back n forth in front of the kennels where 7 setters were quiet as a mouse and  all pointing. Was a pretty nice bird,I'm gonna say he's survived awhile, nice looong tailfeathers on him and skittish to a certain extent. He got a free pass from me to try and cut the mustard,I had one here last year also that made it until march before ol wiley E got him.Everything gets a free pass here, two days before deer season closed I had a nice forked horn blacktail in the yard as well.Just doesn't seem right to me to step out the backdoor and shoot a trespasser.
