Title: How's it been for Western WA Pheasant at Cherry Valley / Stillwater?
Post by: johng on September 30, 2014, 11:39:29 AM

Howdy,

So before I plunk down the ca$h for Western WA Pheasant this year I was wondering how people are doing at these two release sites (and Crescent Lake for that matter but I guess that may not be huntable right now).

Reason I ask is one of my good buddies has hunted 3 days so far at those sites and has not fired his gun once and he has only heard a few shots.  He's an old timer so he got out there before the main season started but also hunted it yesterday and no birds.  He's a very experienced hunter and knows those units super well.

Just wondering if they are planting birds in good numbers or not...  :dunno:

I remember a couple of years ago they didn't plant as many... hope this is not a repeat of that!

Thanks,

Jg

John, I sent you a PM. The corn, blackberries and saplings are grown in heavy in Stillwater. I had good numbers. The dogs did well in the corn and in the trees. Send me a PM. I'm odd days.
