Title: Taneum 336
Post by: bronco8188 on October 01, 2014, 09:08:28 PM
So I've been out scouting here for a few weekends and every time I do I usually have my dad or uncle with me. Whats with all the road closures and gates being closed? Its hard for me to do a lot of walking because its hard for them to get around. Any ideas on how to get to the back side of 336 without coming up to a closed gate? Any info would be nice, preferably not from a smart ass, thanks.

Is the Elk Heights (Lt Murray) side still open or all gated up? Planned on taking the grandkids up there the second weekend.

Are you the Fire crews didn't just leave the barricades up? Where we were it was open per website but they left barricades.

Just saw an announcement yesterday that the closures on the east side are going be lifted.

The S. Cle Elum Ridge fire road closures have been lifted.  They were lifted a week or so ago per the cle elum rangers station phone message.

If you are talking about the private timber land off road 4510 (Plum Creek Timber) you will not be able to access the area via the logging road with any motorized vehicles behind the gate. If you stick to the dirt bike trails they are open to two wheel vehicles only.  Pick up a ORV map from the cle elum rangers station and it will show you where you can and cannot go.

I see dirt bikers riding the logging roads back there all the time but if you get caught you will get a large ticket.  I confirmed this with WDFW officer and Kittitas County Sheriff last week.  Not to mention getting a mouthful from the hunters that spent all morning hiking in.

Probably not what you wanted to hear. Sorry
