I was fortunate to harvest a spike bull during archery season and I've been wanting to try my hand at brain tanning. So after some reading and research (isn't u tube great) I've started.
Spent about 2 hours fleshing the hide it's now in the bucking solution. After a couple days we'll see how the scraping goes.

 Good luck

After the bucking process I spent 5 hours removing the hair and graining the hide. It's now rinsing and neutralizing. I didn't realize how labor intensive this was going to be. Next is the ringing and braining.

Great project. Can we get photos of the process? ?
