I had a couple cameras set up on a small clearing, in the middle of some real thick cover for the last few months.
Captured many elk, mostly cows and a few bulls passing through in the morning and evening. No human pictures on camera, during this time frame. Come opening morning of muzzle, I had myself well camo'd and hidden, with the wind in my favor, before first light. Sat very still and quiet, for the first few hours, with no action. All of a sudden a squirrel started going ape across the other side of the field. I slowly turned in the direction and got ready. This very large dude materializes out of the trees and brush, walks to the middle of the field, stands there and starts loudly blowing on a cow call for like a full minute. Next, I hear something making all kinds of noise crashing down the hill, and this small skinny dude appears from some thick brush. They look at each other for a second, than start hand signaling back and fourth. Next thing the big dude rips the longest loudest fart you ever heard, and waves his hand like that was terrible. The skinny dude notices my camera on a tree, and waves for the camera. As there parting the clearing together, the big dude notices me in the cover and waves. They disappear out of site, and within 3-4 minutes, one of them fires a pistol round for some reason. I never saw or heard any animals the rest of the day or week, go figure.
Checked my cameras in this area, 4 total, Wednsday evening, and not one elk to be seen.
This is on the west side.

Let me know if you want it titled something different.

Bummer bud. I can't stand when people are firing off rounds just cuz. There is plenty of opportunities for that other times of the year. 😒

Do not know why I shared such a crappy story :chuckle:. Could not believe this was going down so bad.
