Well finally got it done Wednesday morning at 7:15AM. The hunt started off Saturday by spotting an elk in the timber but by the time I figured out it was a bull he was walking away at 140 yards took a shot and missed. On Sunday my wife and I walked this skid road right off one of the main lines and seen a lot of sign but no elk. We walked another road and got into elk but they spooked and took off. Now to Monday I am now flying solo I walked the skid road right off the main line spotted elk and followed them for a few hundred yards and had a bull bugle at me I cow called back he bugled again and shut up a cow finally spotted me and they spooked. Hunted all day on Tuesday hiked miles and no elk.......Wednesday morning I get to the skid road off the main line wait for daylight and start sneaking down the skid road and I could hear elk walking I go a little farther and I see a cow I got down to my hands and knees and start moving in I go maybe twenty feet and around the corner of the skid road 70 yards away this big boy is standing in the grade he has no idea I'm there I take aim squeezing the trigger and the rest is history. A couple hours later my wife shows up and in the truck whole he goes.
