November 22nd benefit dinner in Winthrop, WA for fire recovery

Our benefit dinner and auction will be at The Barn, in Winthrop, WA on Nov. 22. We will be having a live and silent auction, raffles, a great prime rib dinner, and lots of fun raising money to help with the recovery of habitat, winter range protection, and helping the deer herds survive through this winter.
If you know anyone who may be interested in attending, donating, or supporting this event, send them my way and we'll get them involved. Looking for lots of publicity, too, so feel free to share the event and contact info. Can call, text, or email me for more details.

(BTW, How many extra special hunt permits/second tags etc., did WDFW issue to substantially reduce herd numbers because of the Carlton Complex wildfire- I had heard thru the rumor mill 2,000?) I HOPE that was a gross exaggeration.

Sounds like a good cause to support! Long term, the fire should benefit wildlife, but with so much winter range destroyed, the next few years are going to be a problem.
(BTW, How many extra special hunt permits/second tags etc., did WDFW issue to substantially reduce herd numbers because of the Carlton Complex wildfire- I had heard thru the rumor mill 2,000?) I HOPE that was a gross exaggeration.
I thought it was 1000 but please let's not sidetrack this thread.

They should set up a booth for donations the Friday after Thanksgiving as well. That is the Christmas Lighting festival, and it draws in a lot of money over that weekend.

"The 23rd Annual Winthrop Chamber of Commerce Holiday Lighting Festival is two weeks away!! Join us Friday November 28th from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM in Winthrop Center for an afternoon of holiday cheer. We will have appearances by Cervizzi’s, Girl Scouts, Vocal Vikings, Winthrop School of Performing Arts, Lori Wadkins students, Winthrop Playmakers and a Holiday Ho Ho Hocus Pocus show with Abrakidabra’s, Mike Bent! There will be free photos with Santa from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, reindeer rides, games and raffles. Special appearances by The Grinch, Frosty the Snowman, Teddy, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and more."
They close the streets and everyone gathers in the middle of town for a fireworks show (from the little park a crossed the bridge on the north end) then Light up the town Christmas lights. We use to go every year but I have not made it last two years.
Tons of people in town that weekend.

By the way, ALL of the money raised at this dinner (100% of profits) are going to stay in Okanogan county for use ONLY on Mule Deer and critical habitat for them, or other crucial needs for the herds in the county. Not $1 will leave the county, so this is a really cool opportunity to maximize our effect there. Only time in my 20 years of doing these fundraisers that I've ever heard of 100% staying for projects!

Also, a huge thanks to Gebbers who provided us with all of the Prime Rib that we'll be enjoying for dinner Saturday night, and Montucky Cold Snacks who are donating 10 cases of beer for our fundraiser. Those 10 cases will put a little extra FUN in the FUN-draiser Saturday night! Also to Hank's Market for supplying the rest of dinner, doing the cooking, and providing a ton more help so far! Thanks to everyone who is helping out, and to those that are coming. Hope to see some of you there!
