Found this old foothold today. Thought someone might know something about it. Very unique springs. The pan reads "??? Lamb" I'm assuming Blake & Lamb but its not readable. "Hawkins Company South Britian, Conn"

Any ideal what size this one is? Does it have any historic significance or are they very common?

They are fairly common. As for the size what is the measurement across the top?
