I am going out for my first day of winter steelhead 2008.. I am going to freeze my ass off! I have 9lbs of eggs in the fridge but I think Ill do the jig/prawn/bobber show tommorow, nothing beats seeing the bobber go down! with this rain it should be good! we shall see!!
-
where are you heading?
-
East fork of the lewis
-
Pretty slow so far on the EFL.
-
that rain we had the last few days should make a big diff, also im fishing up high, always good after the first rain for some early winter and late summer fish
-
i cant wait to do some winter steelhead drifts
-
I'm glad to hear its slow on the East fork...i'm still hunting!! LOL
-
From what i read the EFL is not getting much back anymore. I do not fish it anymore, but i have friends that are very good fishermen that have said that the last few years have been the worst they can remember.
I fish another river that is like the EFL, but has a few more fish... The shoug is my favorite river.
-
thats also a fun river! and its not what it used to be, but there are fish there still, we shall see
-
Ive been hitting a few on the Skagit. Hooked 3 on Monday, and saw a few others get caught. However Wednesday was a boat show, and I didnt touch a fish. Hit and Miss, sounds like steelhead fishing.
-
My brother fished the east fork sat. morning and saw 3 keepers. There starting to pick up. I think with the cold weather it will keep the water low and clear. My bro and I grew up near the east fork, above daybreak park. We love that river.
-
I grew up below daybreak, caught my first on that river, im thinkin of starting below lucia and fishing all the way down, or maybe the elochoman?
-
Lucia is usually a good bet. Get there early and grab your rock.
-
ya i dont think it will be to bad on a monday with weather like this
-
Good point- Good luck to ya
-
thanks we shall see how it goes, part of me wants to go to the elochoman though....
-
I have a good amount of vacation time set aside for this season, plenty of eggs, jigs, etc.... I'm thinking that trip #1 may be around new years on the Umpqua, river levels permitting...
-
well lets go!
-
thanks we shall see how it goes, part of me wants to go to the elochoman though....
Well how did it go today, we want picks of steel
