We were the first ones there and we were out and gettin waiters on when a new lincoln town car or yota 4 runner (not 2 sure what it was) raced in and hit the skidds, and 4 russian kids pilled out (remind u that there is only 1 spot 2 hunt were we were) and i asked them what they were going and they said same place as u but the first one with decoys out gets the spot, i just about *censored* i never thought people were like that and there dad was there encourage this behavoir not 2 sure what 2 say 2 this. Ok i am done now just wanted to vent ( watch out for a new gray 4 runner they will pile out and run before u

Duck,
Man I hate to hear that. Somebody tried to pull that mess on me one time. To beat it all, I knew the guy. I was getting a cup of coffee at the gas station and we were talking. He asked me where we were going to hunt. I was going to invite him to hunt with us because I'd been scouting for 2 weeks and I knew where the X was. By the time I paid for my coffee and turned around, he was gone. I didn't think nothing of it until we were setting up and I saw lights about 200 yards away from where we were setting up. Made me mad. We killed 21 honkers with their feet hanging down. They killed 3 skybusting them on the way to our spread. Needless to say, word got around the amongst the rest of the hunters in our community and the joke was on him.
Sounds to me like you guys should have had that blind. People need to learn some manners.
-
Sorry to hear that happened to you. What did you guys do?
-
I think at that point I would have let them go set up and everytime some birds came in just shoot once hopefully they would learn a lesson
-
i hate it when that happens >:( i think first guy there was pick of where he wants go, that would be the polite thing to do in my opinion
had this happen over the weekend as well, not quite to the extreme. We got to our pond at 4 am and everyone else showed up at 530-600 and we had to somewhat police it so they didnt set up on our pond as well.
So you never said what happened, did you get the blind, you get the blind, both hunt it, you leave out of frustration.... what did you guys end up doing ? :dunno:

Did you tell the father he was wrong?
-
that sort of stuff just ticks a guy off. you get up early and get out early to get your spot and people have to come ruin it for ya. >:(

being the gentle man that I am...I would set up next to them and when the ducks or geese were coming in but out of range I would have opened fire,everytime....I would use my coyote call on them also....OOOH Im sorry those deeks looked real to me :yike: >:( >:( :bdid:

Would be interesting to know if they even had licences, or the right to bear arms!

That is a good point since most aliens be it legal or illegal can buy a firearm.

Hey Duck next time that happens call me up. You guys can go duck hunting while I set up next to them and skybust before the ducks get to them. I dont do much duck hunting anyway, rather than ruin your day messing with them, let me. :chuckle:

In reading posts...I would assume everyone on this site are ethical hunters. It is extremely frustrating to get hammered by individuals who truly don't know the real reason we all hunt...its the hunt and not the kill. Chances are if they would have introduced themselves to you and been cordial you could have both successfully hunted the area and possible made a new hunting connection out of it.
I know its tough when our blood starts to boil about things like this but we need to remember to be the bigger men. They will get whats coming to them sooner or later. The future of our sport depends on being able to make responsible decisions in stressful situations like this. You never know who is watching you....

hmmm good call GHG.... :yeah:

GHG nailed it...for some folks its still all about the kill and numbers, i've pretty much stopped hunting public land since my son started hunting with me for just this reason. It's just not worth the hastle putting up with that kind of crap. You did the right thing by letting it roll like water off a ducks back...
