Title: General Deer on JBLM,,,,,
Post by: Hunterman on November 02, 2014, 06:46:41 PM
,,,Sucked this year as far as areas open for hunting. Only 2 areas open on opening week end, and 3 open the rest of the week ends. From what I understand, this is the way the Post Commander wants it. Total waste of time and money.

I have been hunting the fort since 1964 with my dad, we've killed a bunch of deer off it too. This has been the least amount of areas open to hunt that I can ever remember, and no they are not training in all of them. I really think he's an anti-hunter.

I told Lenzi at the adventure center the same thing  . Plus they raised the price . Talked to a milltary personal that works for the range  and he told me they think he is a anti hunter . Talk to a lot of pissed off military folks this year. I wish they would give us a slug season. I started out this season with my slug gun . We got lucky and my son pulled one off there this season his biggest yet.  I told a lot of people don't expect muck for late buck.

I remember back in the late 1970's through the mid 1980's the post commander closed the post to high power rifles, and only opened it to shotguns, bows, and muzzle loaders. He was from back east were shotguns were the normal hunting method.

Even elk hunting got screwed this year on the post. Area 3N was the only area open Saturday, with 9 opened Sunday.

This is too bad about the fort. I feel that it's the last safest place to hunt.
