:o :dunno:
-
Ummm....bone, are you sure you didn't post a pic of a ghost buck (blacktail)????
-
Thanks Plat. Photo added!
-
Wow...that's a tough call.
I think as they come, that whitetail is bigger than that mule deer is big. I voted for the mule deer, but that's a big whitetail. Tough call.
-
I'd take the whitetail.
-
Jackelope, you hunt in country you might have to make that choice someday. Cool choice to have to make
-
I'm a mule deer guy, but the whitetail is a better buck! I'd pop the whitey.
-
Whitetail all day long.
-
The WT, the mulie is on the wrong side of the fence.
-
Tough call but I would have to take the Whitey!!!
-

Give me that problem! Whitey. Boom. Ring ring, hello, Mr. Taxidermist i'm on my way in...
-
Can we get a head on of the whitey?
It's a tough call, but I chose whitey
-
crappy pic, but before he jumped the fence

Whitey, no doubt!
-
I would hope my son was with me and on three... boom, boom.... :chuckle: I might have to just flip a coin if I was by myself.
-
I've never tasted whitey so I'd take him.
-
While the whitetail is a better representative of the species. I have a handful of 150" whitetail already and no Mule deer over a few smaller buck so the mule deer gets the lead for me. That said, I would probably second guess myself if the situation actually came along. Both great deer!
-
I think a guy would stand a better chance of finding another mule buck as good as that if he passed and took the whitetail......may never get a chance at another whitetail like that, and he is most likely peaked.
-
Neither, they would run away before I could make my mind up.
-
The WT, the mulie is on the wrong side of the fence.
:yeah:
-
The whitetail fur sure and fur certain.
-
I just killed a good whitetail last year. I have looked for a nice 4pt mule deer for a long time, but keep finding 3pts. I'd take the muley.
-
Whitetail for me, I have a few muleys on the wall, the whitetail would break things up a bit. Not to mention they are way better table fare. :EAT:
-
I'm gonna go against the grain on this one and say the muley, look at that symmetry! That whitetail is amazing though. Awesome picture!
-
You know....we need our own Hunt-Wa lottery. Each year any forum member that wants to participate puts $50 in the pot. Mid summer rolls around and one name is drawn. The winner...say myself...then gets to follow Bone around for a week to see if they can find an elk/whitetail/muley/bear......and then kill it. The total pot goes to forum servers/charity whatever.
-
Got a nice white tail in 04. Still looking for a nice Muley

Say What?!?!?
But... I DO like that Idea and I, for one, would send in my $50!
-
I've shot a lot of mule deer and whitetail. Their both beautiful deer, but I would have to put a 30-06 round in that whitetail. Honestly, either deer would make me just as thrilled.

Done it. Twice I think. A few years back...original Joshua Cup.

I got to tag along with him once after the auction for the kid, was pretty fun and saw one of the biggest mulies i've ever seen
-
Oh, and I would take the mulie :chuckle:
-
I'd take the whitetail because I see him as the biggest for the species and it is easier for me to find a bigger mulie.
-
Whitetail only because I have never killed one that size. I have several mule deer in that class. Still wouldn't be easy to pick in the field.
-
Mulie for sure. I have plenty of whities and am due for another mulie!
-
Ask me after next week! Headed to WI Sunday for a whitetail hunt. Suppose to be some monsters in the region where we will be hunting. I keep telling myself to hold out for one over 170, but I'm not so good at passing bucks over 140 :chuckle:
Normally I'm a muledeer guy. But that has a lot to do with how and where I am hunting. If I bump them both together...that whitetail looks pretty dang good! Plus, I'm not so sure I can get an arrow through that fence.
-
Id have to go with the muley on this one.. although if i had a additional buck permit that whitetail would be down also
-
Guys, this is an easy one! I'd win the 3 deer raffle so I could just lay down the pair and then spend the rest of the fall looking for a huge blacktail and hunting out of state:-)
-
I am shooting the mule deer, I have always wanted a solid 4x4 for some reason. Also I figure I will be able to hunt whitetails long after mule deer hunting is shut down in our state :bash:.
-
I would have to say mulie! but then again I will shoot the whitetail for the simple reason i dont have permission on the other side of the fence! :bash: :bash: :chuckle:
-
The Whitey only because I have never got one yet. otherwise first one the crosshairs rested on.
-
Tough call but I would take the whitetail
-
As long as they keep standing like that Whitey's going down. If things are moving whichever gives me the best shot first. Happy to tag either one, but I've got a few mule deer like that and my best whitetail is smaller than that one by a good margin.
-
Easy choice, I shoot the whitetail. Mule deer closed on the 19th on the east side of the state. :tung:
-
Mule deer for sure! There is just something about that type of hunting that gets my heart pounding months and months before the season
-
So Bone, which one would you pick?
-
I picked the muley
-
I saw his twin today, but didn't have the tag.
I voted whitey, but a bird in the hand..........
-
I picked the muley
For the poll or for real and put your tag on it?
-
Muley all the way
-
I was lucky this year. I tagged out on a much bigger one this year Rainier. Saw two today that beat it though.

Photos or it didn't happen. :chuckle:
-
I'm not much of a whitetail a
Guy and I love muleys, but that being said id shoot the whitetail without regrets.

Oh I got photos ;)
-
To me there is something special about a big whitetail.
-
Muley for sure, whitetail hunting is for fat, lazy, or retired people.
-
great first post

Yes you were, I read that post and the story was great. I was assuming you were picking the muley but wanted to make sure it wasn't an old photo from years past that you ended up taking the muley after the photo.
Thanks for clarifying.
