Just curious. Had a new buddy recommend it and wanted to get a few more opinions... I HATE stuffing iwth my grinder... wow... horrible.
-
Well fine then! I just ordered it and am going to write ya a little review when I get to use it!
-
Post a link to what you bought....I am looking for a stuffer. Can't wait for your review.
-
I'm torn between that one and a LEM. Solve the mystery for me!
-
Started making sausage last spring. I visit websites for sausage and many folks have pics of the LEM, but I have never seen the Dakotah until now. :twocents:

Here's a video link... For the money I can't find anything else that comes close... Simple, no hands cranking or pushing...

I would not recommend the Dakota stuffer. Used one for a few years. Still have it in a shed somewhere.
You will scrape your knuckles filling it with meat and you will get water everywhere.
-
Well... I ordered and I think I'll give it a run!! I hope I can be happy with it!
-
Which one do you use Billy?
-
Similar to the one in the video that was linked. But mine was not clear plastic. I was able to make passable sausage most of the time, but it was always a mess with water everywhere and even water getting into the meat around the rings. It was a pain to clean and even more of a pain to drain and fill with meat.
-
Hmmm... well... I am going to look at rigging it with air... that may solve at least one of the probs you describe. Im wondering if a little sandpaper around the edges will keep from scraping/cutting hands while stuffing....

I just bought the Weston 7lb vertical stuffer, being shipped as we speak.

I use a variety depending on what I am making and where I am making it. I use a hand stuffer, small Waring grinder, or our large Hobart grinder. I have also used a couple different Cabela's grinders.

I've been looking at the 11 lb here instead of the LEM

Hmmm like the concept and they make it look so easy. I just use a grizzley 5lb vertical since I don't do mass amounts in one session. Would like to hear more real life reviews when ya get it going ;)
-
Ive yet to use this stuffer... I will try and do some sausage making in January... and will give my full review/opinion when I do!
I also may try and rig this up to an air compressor... we will see.
