so i am having a big thanksgiving this year and was thinking why not deep fry a goose. fired a few turkeys but not sure if there are any diffrences between goose and turkey. any tips would be great and ofcourse winning brines and injections. thanks

If you haven't deep fried before I would recommend doing it in your back yard with nothing overhanging like the roof or garage.
I've had deep fried turkey and it doesn't hold a candle to smoked turkey IMHO

If, when you say "Big", you mean lots of people, "a" goose won't go far. Even a fair sized Honker, when plucked and cleaned is not all that big and will feed maybe 6 people.
Sure would be fun for everyone to have a taste, if nothing else.
But then again, not all families eat like the 10 of us in my family do. :chuckle:

oh i also plan on doing a turkey in the oven but really want to try something new and everything is better deep fried so why not throw a big honker in there. i fried turkeys before so know all about the safety of it.
