I bet he cut the jugular with that one. I shot my first elk almost identical to that shot and had almost the same effect. Mine went about 10 yards.

I just showed this to a friend about 1/2 an hour ago. Incredible video and shot.

That has been posted and debated quite throughly....however.....I am still not tired of seeing it. The bleed out is epic, the lighted nock adds to the drama....and the face plant is epic.

Same here. I would be afraid of that shot due to the small target but it worked out great for this kid. I've seen the video several times myself. Incredible bleed out!

So here is a question why not take a shot like that for me it looks like anywere you hit with him facing you your going to hit a vital if not all of them just my :twocents:

Not true at all. The kill spot at this angle is about the size of a baseball. Maybe smaller. Super high risk shot.

Know your bow, know your skills, know your target. Learn to shoot small, hit small.

I don't have a problem with the shot or making the shot, I can assure you that. What I don't like is sending a message that this is a "smart" shot. It isn't.

I shot this bull two years ago with a frontal shot. Actually probably a very very strong quartering towards shot almost straight on. He was on the ground in 10-15 yards. I think the kill zone is bigger than most say, but not as big as a broad side shot for sure.
