I was not going to share but decided what the hell...My buddy and I were drawn for some bull tags. I did not get the bull I was after nor in some peoples opinion a bull worthy of the tag but I had a great time with friends put meat in the freezer and to top it off shot my bull on my daughters first birthday. Here are some pics. The first is my buddys bull the second is mine and the third is my friend with his first elk.

You did good.
-
It looks like you guys did great! Congrats on a successful hunt to all involved. Score is seldom a good gauge of success (imo). With age I have come to value the hunt and time in the mountains far more than the kills. Again congrats to all of you.
-
Is the prevailing attitude on this board that everyone is Jim Shockey? Dude both elk are pretty nice and I hope you are proud of them. Nice job.

All three are DAMN nice bulls. From someone who has killed 10 elk, and has yet to kill a bull I'd be proud of any of them.

Yeah, looks like you had a great trip and a full freezer!
-
I would be proud with any of those bulls!
-
Nothing wrong with those bulls. Those are all trophies in my eyes.
-
Beautiful bulls! As I get older I appreciate the time in the field with friends and family to be the trophy. :)
-
I was wondering if you was going to post or not glad you did. congrats on your hunt
-
Most people on here would be more than happy with those bulls. I'll take them off your hands for ya! Good job Ross. It looks like Charlie's going to get some more work. :chuckle:
-
Congrats on your success
-
Meh...if you're happy with it, who cares what anyone else thinks. Nice job, I'd be more than happy to tag any one of those anytime.
-
Congrats on a couple of great bulls and filling the freezer which is the most important thing!
-
Glad you shared, Ross. You guys did well and killed some nice Bulls. More importantly you busted your butts and shared some quality time with those mountains. Good job and thanks for sharing. Congrats.
-
You should change your thread title Ross. You guys did great! Thanks for sharing.
-
The memories will outscore any bull...You guys will never forget that hunt and you have two great bulls to remind you what hunting is all about.Congrats to you guys
-
Ross,
Kudos to you for helping your buddy kill his first bull.
That is an awesome experience.
At some point hunting should be more then something measured in inches.
I think you have proved that.
Thanks for sharing and being a good example to the next generation of hunters out there!
-
What unit did you get drawn for? Nice bulls!
-
Looks like a great hunt to me, and I too would be proud to tag or participate in a hunt where bulls like that were taken by friends. Good work . Bet your eats real well too :IBCOOL:.
-
Good job on the bulls. Its never a slamdunk for big bulls or bucks no matter what tag you have and when you have more than one tag to fill its even tougher. COngrats nwhunter
-
How many bulls did ya'll see on your hunt? What was the elk activity like? I'd like to hear more about the hunt. That's pretty awesome that you all got bulls, spikes are hard to come by and that's a sweet reward for your buddy just tagging along!!

I would call it a great hunt as well. Good job

Not why anyone would be worried about how big of an animal they harvest :dunno: it is about the hunt ..spending time with your family and hunting buddies ...sitting around talking about hunting and being out there is what it is all about :dunno: Looks like one hell of a good time to me :dunno: :chuckle:

Great job.
-
 nice bit of work for the both of you congrats
-
You did great, all are bulls to be proud of. I get why you would be apprehensive about posting and having someone say something negative about the hunt. I hate it when I see that kind of stuff.
Thanks for posting and great job on three great bulls, sounds like you guys worked hard for them all.
-
Thanks everyone. It was a great time and good memories.
-
Great work Ross. Who cares what other people think. Sometimes it's better when people keep their thoughts to themselves. Mouthy people r the reason why people don't share anymore. Thank you and nice Bulls.
-
Heck ya meat poles full! A dead elk is a good elk! Congrats to all!
-
Hell. That's not just a successful season. That there is an Absolute Dream Season! Congrats.
Now hurry up and tell everyone the coordinates exactly where ya shot em :chuckle:
-
Some other pics Of the trip. My 15 year old niece has made us desserts every year for the past 4 years now and the pie she made was not only cool looking but it was "THE BOMB"
-
:dunno: you guys shouldn't hesitate sharing these stories!!!!! That's one of the many reasons I like hunt wa :) the stories/pics are the best and should always be shared (and I think we need more detail pal :chuckle:) nevermind any negative posts by sour pusses......most members ignore them anyway :IBCOOL:
-
Great job! Cool pictures! Those bulls are all trophies in my eyes. I have hunted too many years and hiked too many miles to not appreciate any of those bulls. I would be damn proud of those elk. Thanks for sharing. As my dad would always say when we got one, "You did good kid".
-
Great job Ross!! All nice bulls!! Congratulations!!
-
The young guy in the picture eye's are really close together and sqinting, are you sure that the spike he is holding or an inflatable? Congrat's to you all including the young guy (slider)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Any elk is a good elk and those are great! Some told me my 163" buck I shot with my late chewuch tag wasn't big enough for that tag, all I have to say to that is, there's a LOT more to that deer and your elk than the size of the horns, Because the memories of that hunt with my boys are enormous and are relived often. Congratulations on your trophy
-
Nice bulls. You did very well.
-
If your not happy with your elk then I would gladly take the meat. I did not get an elk this season and would be happy with anything you don't want.
-
Ross, Nothing to be ashamed of! You had a great hunt with friends, and that's what counts! Congrats on another good year.
-
Have to be honest I haven't been on here much but it only took a couple hours and I had to search your posts to see how you did!! Well done my friend! WELL DONE!
-
congrats on a great hunt with friends! doesn't get much better than that, that spike looks mighty good eating!
-
No shame in any of those, I'm of the mind set any an elk is a good elk. I haven't got to the point in life that I would pass on anything other than a calf or a cow with a young calf. Good job
-
