Title: East side help
Post by: redfish5 on November 10, 2014, 07:09:54 PM: I am taking the pup for his first hunt at Cooke Canyon to get him on some for sure birds. While I am over there I am planning on getting out and searching for some wild birds. It will be my first trip to the east side. Any tips? Doesn't have to be areas, I will take any advice (gear, what to watch out for, etc.) Not really partial to any birds, I'm thinking quail may be my best bet for a young pup. I will be in Ellensburg, but not sure where I'm going to head from there for wild birds. Thanks.

Thanks for the tip about the reservation, I have heard others recommend the same. If you have ever hunted there, I have a question about the permit. My girlfriend is planning to come along just to take pictures and watch the pup. She doesn't have a regular hunting license and not going to be carrying a gun. Do I still need to buy her a reservation license as well just to be on the property? Thanks!

stop at any convenience store or gas station to get permit. don't think there is any issue w your girlfriend. the store will know for sure.
