Let's see the follow up photo of laying down buck
-
The big three was the "dominant" buck. He ran off a big 4 point that I don't think I photo'd. I was surprised of the size difference there. There was a pesky small three that was irritating the big three. Finally the big three bedded next to his doe. Meanwhile the wide guy watched it all from his bed. Then a new four point came in and pushed up the big threes doe. The big three followed him around wheezing and snorting. While this was happening the little three saw his chance and tried to run the doe out of there. The big three pursued. Now the four point was left with a bunch of does, probably happy as all hell. He was trailing one and it walked by the big guy on the ground. At which time his dreams were shattered. He was all alone again. The big three and this 5x4 were rutting almost together with their perspective doe. I saw them bedded the day before WAY out there. THey had moved south about a quarter mile when this all occurred. The next day only the 5x4 remained and about half as many doe.
Photos suck as far as photographers standards, but I am a deer hunter/enthusiast long before being a photographer and really enjoyed watching the scene unfold. In fact I started taking photos so that I could share what I saw with my Dad mostly and a few friends. Now I share with you guys.

LOL........Gotta be hoot to watch that rut activity and the posturing. Surprised you have time to take photos. I always catch myself watching and missing the photo ops.

At this distance I was using the camera as a spotter.
-
C'mon man still a week to go, you are killing me with these photos. I hope to stumble onto a group like that, closest one gets it.
-
Rut will be over in a week. You'll see nothing but pellets and tracks. :chuckle:
