Title: Deer Hunting and Grouse hunting Question
Post by: joe_dumy on November 14, 2014, 08:25:01 PM
Is it legal to hunt deer in the morning. Then go grouse hunting with a dog in the afternoon and then back to deer hunting.

I ask this as I am fighting an internal struggle. I have a new bird dog and love hunting behind her. But she last about 5 hours 18 miles 7 for me before petering out. And I have an unfilled tag for deer and mornings and evenings have been best for me spotting them so far this season 70 does and one little button head buck.  Of coarse I would leave the dog kenneled in the truck while hunting deer.

If I can't hunt both then I will choose Grouse. I love exploring the woods and multiple blind flushes and the occasional miss.

I called andasked last year. The lady that I spoke with said that so long as the dog remained in the vehicle and didn't assit in hunting (deer) that it was o.k.

Absolutely no reason why you can't do that.

Good idea.  I've seen a ton of grouse this season while deer hunting.
