Alright here you go...as the story goes I get a text from Elkoholic_74 with a dandy buck down so I went to find him and help drag it out but he was to fast and got it to the road before I got there so after bs'n for a few min I left and went back to my hunt and decided to stop and my backup spot and check it out...I instantly spot 2 deer then another steps out...2 does and a toehead. I watched them for the better part of an hour hoping a buck would come out but no luck. I went to another landing to get a different angle of the cut. I rattled and used the can call for a half hour or so and kept hearing something behind me in the cut moving around but could not see it. This went on for another 15 min then I caught a doe moving with another following, I throw up the binos to see a spike doin lip curls and then take off after the doe. I high tailed it back to the truck and drove up to the top of the ridge and dove off the side looking for the spike. I set up on a stump and glassed, he has to be right here but after 5 min of nothing I move off the stump and over to the right and start looking again and then I hear the sound of a deer running. I caught his movement going down the ridge line right where the spike was and throw the binos up and all I see is a big rack moving away from me. I scramble back to the stump and get the cross hairs on him and whistle, grunt, and finally yell at him and he slows down but doesn't stop and I touch a round off and he keeps going. Not knowing if he's hit or not I see him stick his head out from behind a tree and I line up the cross hairs through the brush where I think his vitals are and send another round downhill and down he goes! I send my dad a text because no one is answering their phones big buck down. They think im screwing with them because I told them there was a spike down here....the look on their faces when they seen my "spike" was priceless ...I was told good karma was coming my way after what I did for my buddy and his 3pt....guess I need to start believing in karma :chuckle:

Great buck, especially when you were ready to shoot a spike! So did you hit him with the first shot too?
-
I broke his spine on the first shot so he was done but when I seen his head and he was standing I wasn't letting him get away
-
Nice buck
-
Good job. Thats a nice 2pt.
-
Great Fork! Love it, Congratz on a dandy buck
-
Thanks guys...This is by far my biggest fork horn...he was all rutted up...one ear torn..scared up face and had 2 broken legs at one time...he had a huge hard mass on one front leg and rear leg
-
Very nice buck.
-
Nice buck
-
I love heavy fork horned bucks .
-
Nice buck! Take a closer look at the legs with the hard mass on them. Mine this year had a big bone growth on its leg that looked like a broken leg. Upon further inspection, I found shiny lead fragments imbedded in the bone. Most likely from a .22
-
I'll check them out...I figured he might have been shot there....tough old buck either way
-
Good job ! Happy to hear you got it done   :brew:

This makes #5 out of 7 in our group :IBCOOL:
