Caught this guy out in a clearcut first thing thursday morning. He had a doe and a small buck with him. It all happened pretty quick. Boned out and back at the truck by 10:45. Not a huge bodied buck, but had over 65# of meat. Overall pack weight was about 100#. My legs were feeling that the next day.
I got the mule deer last week out of state.

Thanks everyone. The mule deer was taken in the extreme eastern part of Idaho :chuckle:

Nice job link! Heck of a year.that idaho buck sure is a wide one!
-
Some great bucks there!

He looks wider than he is. Its "only" 28". I thought for sure he was 30 when I shot him. Still haven't gotten that magical 30 incher. For the spot we hunt in "eastern Idaho", I'd have a hard time passing a buck like that up. It was the biggest one I had seen to that point, but we did get two bigger after that.
