Title: reloading dies

I have access to a rcbs reloading kit and would like to reload for my 7mm-08. Should I just buy the rcbs dies or is there any advantage to buying something else as far as brands go?

RCBS is good.  Lee dies come with the shell holder.

Dies come in a wide range of prices. Start with a set that fit your budget, the different brands all have pro's and con's. But for the most part will get the job done. Later if you choose to advance in your reloading skills, step to the high end dies. :twocents:

RCBS, Redding and Hornady are my 3 go to brands for dies.

Any advantage to having the shell holder with the Lee dies?

The shell holder does just that, holds the shell (case) to the press.  You'll need one to reload.  Not very expensive and brand does not matter.  With that said I've used Lee, Hornady, and RCBS dies, I prefer RCBS.  Love the 7mm-08, PM me for load data if you'd like.  Go to powder for me is Varget or H4895 depending on bullet weight.

RCBS is fine, Redding and Hornady are better IMO

I use almost exclusively RCBS equipment for rifle/pistol reloading. I have a set of Redding dies I use to reload 7mm-08. They work great, no issues.

Another die company is C&H-4D they have a great selection of dies including obsolete and wildcats, I was able to buy of the shelf 6.5x58R Sauer, 9.3x72R and a bullet sizing die to reduce .264 bullets to .260 for my Sauer.  Their prices are some of the best in the industry and the do custom dies.
