Title: Mountain Mike's skull
Post by: chester on November 24, 2014, 09:58:14 AM
Has anyone used one of their kits before? I broke the skull plate on my bull this year and am thinking of trying to put the antlers on one of these. How much of a hassle is it to line everything up? Do they look half way decent when finished? Just wanted to hear any experience with these or if there is another option. Thanks.

I have used two of them. Both for mule deer sheds.  I really like how they turned out. Once it is on the wall, most people don't notice that it is a fake skull.  Just take your time while you are mounting the antlers and be sure to drill your pilot holes deep enough or you risk breaking the screw off inside... NOT FUN if that happens! Where the antlers attach to the skull plate make sure to shave off some of the plastic so you get a nice fit.  Then later you can fill in the gaps with the white glue that comes in the kit.  Good luck and post pictures when you are finished.
