Title: Egg tanning
Post by: n_mathews13 on November 30, 2014, 07:32:03 AM: I got a few deer hides, anyone have any luck with eggs. What's your steps?

Post by: GBoyd on November 30, 2014, 08:41:35 AM: Sorry, I can't help. I heard about that method and went as far as watching the youtube video before deciding that it was way to much work. If no one here has any experience with it, you might have better luck at a primitivist forum.

Post by: runningboard on November 30, 2014, 10:28:11 AM: brain tan it, here is a guide for doing it the sioux way, hides will "breathe" unlike oil tanned leathers. you only need to follow the steps, I.E. use any method that works for getting the hair and epidermis off. you don't need to have the tool described in the text.
