Title: Long bow help

I'm really wanting to make a longbow for hunting someday and range shooting. I shoot a compound now, but really want to get into more traditional archery. Is there a kit that would help me build my first bow? I'd like it to be hunt worthy (after much practice of course)! Thanks for any advise or insite y'all might have?

Might sound stupid but you can learn a lot from youtube. You have to weed out the unprofessional videos but there are some good ones. Look up master bow builder. It's a good series of videos lots of great tips. I believe the guy has a website that he sells starter kits and all kinds of trad archery equipment. I'm working on my 7th bow now. I've made several mistakes along the way but it's been fun learning. I hope to take my first animal with a longbow I've made this next year. Good luck to you.

Jay's classes are highly recommended! You won't be building a laminated target bow, but the lessons learned will be useful in anything you decide to do. The Bingham kits are a great way to get started without much of a hit to you wallet. But, I'd still try to get you to sign up for one of Jay's classes.
