Title: Looking for a shotgun part
Post by: Miles on December 04, 2014, 05:13:38 AM
If anyone knows where to find an action bar assembly for a Mossberg model 9200, please let me know.    After cleaning my duck gun last night I realized that one of the side rails is cracked.  The gun/part have been discontinued, so it's not an easy part to locate.  I am calling mossberg today, but thought I would post here as well.

Perhaps you could have it Tig Welded  if you cant find another? Does the rail just guide the action via the pump? if so it likely doesn't receive too much stress.

Yes, its a semi auto and it slides the action back and forth.   So far I have called all of the mossberg parts dealers and received several "good luck, haven't seen those in years".   So it's either luck into a used one, or I may have an option via the factory.

I talked to a person at mossberg today that said they should be able to fix it/modify it at the factory and get it back to me.   I'm hoping they don't just send me a new 935 like I have heard they do sometimes.   The 9200 was the only shotgun with a lifetime warranty, so I would like it if they could just fix it.

I actually called them yesterday and they can't get the part.

bummer they're not available!  Is there an experienced welding shop in your area?  they don't have to be an FFL if it's JUST the bolt/rail you take them.  alternately, if you never leave the building, you can take the whole gun.  Only if you leave the receiver at the business and leave do they need to be an FFL.

So I ended up sending the gun back to Mossberg.  I searched everywhere and couldn't find the part.  They sent me a prepaid overnight fed ex label and it was delivered to them yesterday.  Now the wait begins to find out if they will fix it or send me a new semi...

Is it cast or machined? If machined, you could always have one made.
