Was at the Tualitin OR Cabelas and got to see this beast of a bull elk on display. It was shot 9/3/2008 by a fella named Dan. 436 4/8 inches of bone!!!! Thought it is a super good mount. I thought I'd share for folks that don't make it that way to often.

Yeah, that's Agnew's bull. Antlers look a little goofy on that mount to me? Tipped forward to much and to far forward on it's head. :dunno:
I think that's a replica mount too. He had that bull mounted as a shoulder mount at the Portland sportsman's show back in early 2009.

:yeah:
The mount from the shoulder up looks funny to me. The antlers are set weird and as said above, more than likely reproductions. The color is nothing like the original.
-
That is interesting how the antlers are set? I'd like to take a euro mount and hold it up to it for reference? Just to see the difference. Never thought it would be a replica? But again if that was my bull the true set of antlers would not be far out of my site....

I think cabelas does a lot of replicas now. I wish they wouldn't.

Something is defi itely off about that mount. I saw it in october. Looks screwed up.

Mount choice ruins a WA Legend. :twocents:

It's true that they use some replica's but few and far between. I know that they strive to get local mounts to place in their stores to go along with the murals and such that are also themed from local area's.
-
Can anybody pull the pick of that bull that was posted here and stick it next to one of the above as a comparison? :dunno:
-
The problem is that the horns need to be laid back a touch ..they are to straight up and down ..other than that , that's one hell of a mount :dunno: :twocents:
-
Nice bull, goofy looking mount.
-
Definitely a replica.

I agree with the rest of you. As soon as I looked at it I thought. Beautiful mount. Then I looked at the horns and thought. That aint right! How did they do such a good job on the form and hide and screw up the placement of the horns?
