So my parents have place in Lincoln and my dads been doing more and more fishing, mostly trout, especially in the fall, winter, and early spring. I'm looking to put a package together for Christmas for my dad. Can anyone give advice on some tackle that I might look to get? They typically troll, he has rod/reel already, but he typically uses whatever his friend has set up.
Thanks!

I'd pick up some Kededa flies in black/orange and anything with perch colors. for a more expensive gift you may think about a small hand-crank downrigger.
-
I always go for a ton of gear then strike out
downriggers, side planers, divers, gang trollers flys galore every doo hickey and gadget and come home with an empty cooler.
then I go fishing with this old fart on ancient old pole with leaded line that's got to be older than me, gang troller that's 50 years old a wedding ring and we got a limit.
Run out three colors he says, spool out three colors and BAM fish on!
Here's to old farts that know how to fish!
In case you can't tell I have a love/hate relationship with LR

Multiple depth diving plugs in perch and crawfish colors. Have personally caught most all game fish in that lake on them.....

Here are the plugs I have been catching trout with. I have fished Daisy to Hunters last week and boated 70 trout. Catch and release fishing. If you ever need any other info hit me up.

I think I got one of those boats that won't catch fish

Rapala's , wedding rings/ double whammy's , muddler minnows. All those work good for trolling for trout.
