Title: dog first aid

Noticed this sore on my labs paw. Anyone deal with these? Should I bandage and tape it to keep her from licking?

Hard to tell. Is the dog licking it and its turned in to a hot spot? Or is it a growth that the dog is licking? After my dog Chief had his toes sewed back together he kept licking the side of his foot creating a hot spot. I exercised him after being cooped up for a month and he stopped his constant licking and just did so  to clean.  :twocents:

I keep a spray bottle in my truck and have used on myself while hunting.

Can find it at Costal stores or other feed stores.

almost looks like a benign tumor. Have you tried to pop it? If you squeeze it a bit does it look like it's a bump that could pop or is it just a scratch? If it looks like a bump with a white head it could be a sliver of something just getting pussed up waiting for you to pop it and get squirted with the blood and puss.  :chuckle:

Looks like a sebaceous adenoma. It is not a wound, but a benign growth. They are easy to lick in that location and she probably will continue unless it is removed. Licking it doesn't really cause concern unless it gets "angry". It will not heal or go away on its own. They are more common with aging.
