I would be in.

Are you going to the in service training (IST) in Wenatchee this March?  I am hoping to do some networking there and get more ideas about how other teams do things.  I have been through two different hunter education classes, one with each of my daughters and taught with three different teams so far and within the framework of the class all of them have been a little different.  I try to take what I think is best from each of them and apply it to my teaching.

I think the more input and exposure to other peoples ideas the better so yes a group to discuss that kind of stuff would be beneficial.  Again I am hoping to get more information at the IST in March, a group like this might already exist that we can just join.

I wont be attending the training in March, I put on two 5 day classes a year the first one starts in March the 2nd class in April, that way students can get there special permits in time for hunting, plus take part in youth Turkey, I  been certified as leed instructor for about 12 years now and taught as a volunteer for another three years before getting certified, I have a system in place that just needs to be tweeked a little each year depending on my instructor team, and schedule, my goal is to have all the instructors be able to teach all the different parts of the curriculum, but also know that there's always a better way to skin a cat, and this just might be another way to share information, I have had good results from some of the other instructors on here answering questions that have come up along the way, it just makes sense to network with others in the same boat, not sure if we can make it a closed group or if communication would be through PM.

was a student with my daughter in 2007, saw the value of the course and asked about becoming an instructor, 2 months later was done with PST and 1st certified in July that year. be glad to learn from others and share my lessons learned. will be going to IST. have taught with three different teams, am lead on one. like to see how others get the students to the goal.
worked with a guy for a short time who likes to say "I put on the best class in the state, bar none." I always bite my tongue but sit there thinking, "you've never been to anyone else's, so what is your basis for comparison?"
I mention that only to illustrate the point that if you think you're the only one doing it right, you leave yourself no room for improvement. I think you have a good idea and I'd be in.

Pardon the ignorant question, but what is a "group"?  Private board for instructors to use?  sub section on the regular board?  Something we subscribe to?

I like the collaboration concept, and would be interested in anything along those lines.  Just wondering what the mechanics are!

Something like this could be set up on facebook as a closed group.
I've set up different groups for different branches of my family and it seems to work well.I know some people are not to keen on facebook but it would be one way to do it.

I've been told their are at least two groups that instructors use to communicate with each other but I don't know who leads them.

I would like to see more communication between different hunter ed teaching teams, not that we cant get questions answered from higher up, it just seems like turn around time from Olympia take days or weeks, not sure if we could have a closed group on HuntWa or would facebook be a better option.
