Took a shot with my 1187 today and the spent shell ejected but did not load the 2nd from the magazine. Not sure what had happened so I field stripped it and noticed the link that gets pushed down into the plunger/recoil spring was bent. After pulling the link out, I noticed the plunger was sticking a bit. A little lubrication around the plunger and it seemed to go back and forth just fine. Only problem is that I have to wait two days for the new link to arrive. Any of you guys ever encountered a bent link before?

No but mine just took. Crap on me about a month ago. It fires the first shot and ejects the shell into the chamber but doesn't spit it out and won't feed the next shell because it's jammed. I bought and installed a new feed latch. Didn't solve the problem, going to send it to Remington I guess.

I had a problem with mine a few years ago not feeding the second shell. Then, they'd come out with gouges along the casing. I replaced the feed latch (part #39), which had bent and it fixed the problem. I also had the link grooves deburred in the receiver so it wouldn't cut my fingers to ribbons during cleaning. Those grooves are still pretty sharp.

I bought one 4 or 5 years ago brand new. It's been a problem child ever since. Its been sitting in a pile of parts for the ladt 2 years or so. Going to get it fixed and dump it for cheap i think.
